Jeju Island Food

Some of the food you can try. Blood sausage on the right
You’ll have the opportunity to try some of the best seafood when you’re in Jeju. Being a small island, everywhere has loads of fresh seafood so find yourself a restaurant on the coast and chow down. They serve amazingly fresh fish, all matters of shellfish and basically, anything they catch. If you don’t know what to order, just point to whatever is on someone elses table, or whatever is swimming around in the tanks. I think I got a seafood hotpot which had several different clams which tasted amazing and a grilled mackerel that was the best I’d ever had.
Jeju Island is also known for its black pig. Its basically like any other pig except its hair is black (thrilling). The meat pretty much tastes the same. It’s often served BBQ’d and theres a whole street in Jeju-si (called Black Pork Street) that hosts a range of restaurants specialising in the stuff.
Similarly, blood sausage is another popular, regional dish. Its sort of like Scottish black pudding. A sausage made with the blood of the pig and also some rice stuffed in there too. If you’re anaemic, this is probably a good choice. The taste isn’t as off-putting as some find black pudding to be, so maybe it’s a good dish to begin if you are planning on one day exploring your Scottish roots. To eat either blood sausage of black pig, just look for a restaurant with a black pig on the front. They should have it there. Alternatively, I ate blood sausage at a restaurant in Noodle St (see below).
Everywhere in Jeju you will find people selling citrus. I dont know what it is about citrus and Jeju but there's a lot of it, including those in chocolate form.
It’s also worth mentioning Noodle St in Jeju-si. It’s just a street with a lot of restaurants (though it sounds more like a market with street food) that sell noodles, which is apparently a regional specialty. As with Black Pork Street, have someone in your hostel/hotel circle it for you in the map. Though most of the tourist maps should have it highlighted.
